Second Session

Recap of Sunday; January 22, 2012

Once meeting up for our second session, we started throwing out actual names of people to interview and explained the reasoning behind picking those individuals.

Based on the story elements we tried to cover every angle and have a valuable source for each Act included within the documentary.  It is very crucial we stay true to our theme.  We realize that there may be some obstacles with finding people willing to be filmed on camera talking about their experiences but we're going to make it possible.

The narrator or narrators we decide to choose could really make or break our approach.  What we aim for is someone with a voice that demands the attention of an entire room, so that you can't help but to listen to what that person has to say.  Whoever we decide on, we have faith they'll do just fine.

Towards the end of this session we had collected a lot more information from each other and brought a lot of things to the table.  Rather it was research topics or potential questions we could answer in our film.  The main theme of our doc is what we'll be more focused on in the weeks to come, along with determining how we intend to structure the three different Acts.  We already have some nice ways on how we could build up the overall concept of our story.

Next Session - Prepare more structure ideas, Finalize list of sources and people to interview, Think about the different elements each Act should contain.

First Formal Planning Session

Recap of Saturday; January 21, 2012

The Early Bird, gets the Worm..

Proper planning for our upcoming documentary is very important and requires us to get an early start in order to be ahead of the game.

Before we could begin to visualize our documentary on a greater scale, we first briefly discussed different story angles.  We talked about the various elements of story-telling we could include, wrote down some creative ideas and proceeded to discuss potential narrators for the documentary, that would convey our message effectively to the audience.

The G-CODE: Black Silence
Reporter - Ramzey L. Smith
Videographer/Editor - myself

There's no "I" in "TEAM"..

Working together on such an important project has its challenges but me & Ramzey are eager to get the ball rolling.  After putting things into perspective a little bit, we started to think about different shooting locations we could use in order to obtain good footage and began to compile a list of potential interviewees that would be perfect to be featured in the documentary.  Something that we regard as a top priority is having a videography style of recording like never seen before.  We want to amaze people throughout our entire presentation from the camera angles, to the amount of information and knowledge obtained while watching our groundbreaking documentary.

Next Session - Prepare a solid list of sources, Think of plots for each Acts, Finalize potential narrators, Create blogs.
